I'm Kristina Trogdon Shaver and I began my career in apparel design and development.

BACKGROUND

I wasn't unfamiliar to quilting as I had done a handful of projects in 4H and with my mom.  However, through my professional career, I found myself working for Craftsy in their e-commerce department when they were still in the business of fabric.  I found myself so in love with the fabrics and the industry, that I knew this is where I wanted to be.

After Craftsy sold the classes and shut down the fabric, I began working for another quilting company, Love Sew where I built the fabric assortment from the ground up utilizing everything I knew about the industry to help bring the True Fabrics brand to life.  While I no longer work with True Fabrics, it's a testiment to my ability to design, illustrate, and produce fabric.

I have now been given the opportunity to create patterns for many of the fabrics I designed for Craftsy, and this is how my journey into patterns came about.

While my long term aspirations are always to create and produce quilt fabric, currently patterns are something I can create with my creativity and computer.  No capital necessary.

MISSION

I believe that quilting can be cool!  My designs in fabric and patterns are inspired by my favorite retailers (i.e. Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie).  Rather than shopping for our favorite blankets and coverlets, let's make 'em!  

My hope is to make the fashionable designs from these stores accessible for handmade projects, so that you can still have the amazing designs, but with the ability to make them yourself.
